The Vine and the Branch

The Bible has many statements that concern vision and direction. I was in church last Sunday and we were having communion. The passage read was from John 15:5 – I am the vine and you are the branches … Cut off from the vine you can not bear fruit.

I started to think this applies to Vision. If your company has a vision all the people in your company understand it, they will always act in a manner that takes your company toward where the vision is leading.

If you don’t have a vision or the staff doesn’t know your vision then when they are faced with decisions as to how to proceed, they will not always make the choice moving the company forward.

Like a branch cut off from its vine cannot bear fruit, your employees will not be bearing fruit if they are cut off from what your vision of what your company does. In todays market you need everyone to be heading in the same direction and the vision is what gives everyone the goal that they are trying to achieve.

Is your company struggling with where to go and how to get there? Maybe you need to revisit your vision statement and see if your vision, mission and plan are in sync.

Do you need help in exploring what your company’s original vision was and how to follow it? I give seminars on creating or revisiting what your companies vision is and how to use it to craft your mission statement and your business plan on where you want to go.
