What is the Christian Vision of Lent?

We are quickly approaching Ash Wednesday the first day of Lent and the 40 days up to Easter. For those who are not Christian there is more then forty days between Ash Wednesday and Easter because Sundays are not counted in the forty days.

Easter is the biggest celebration in the Christian religion, because Christians believe everything in the Bible leads up to Easter. It is when Jesus is sacrificed and then reborn, saving all mankind.

You may ask isn’t Christmas bigger than Easter? It is if you are into marketing and sales and it’s the end of your fiscal year and you want to make your yearly sales quota. For Christians Easter is the bigger event.

The vision set out in the Bible is that because of free will we have deviated from Gods plan for us and needed to be saved. To save us, God sends his son into the world to set us straight on what must be done, and then be the ultimate sacrifice and save our souls.

He then brings his son come back after his death to provide hope of an afterlife, and guidance on how to achieve Gods vision. His vision is that we care for each other as a living prayer to God and in doing so we fulfil Gods plan for us.

Every Sunday you go to church, what the minister is really talking about is the corporate vision of Gods enterprise. He tells us about Gods vision, and then he tells you about Gods mission statement and last he tells you what’s important. It’s up to us to put it into a yearly plan.

Do you go out there and tell everybody about your corporate vision? Do you have a mission statement? Is it clear and easy for everyone to follow? Is your business plan for the next year following your vision and going toward accomplishing it?

If not then it’s time to revisit your vision and mission statements. Contact me and lets revisit your vision and mission together and see where you really want your company to go.

I give seminars on creating or revisiting what your companies vision is and how to use it to craft your mission statement and your business plan on where you want to go.
