What Retirement Myths populate your beliefs

Most of us have learned that the way to a good life in retirement is to earn money, and more money and more money and more money otherwise you will become a bag lady/man in your old age.

That could be the case if you don’t recognize that retirement is a transition that you should be managing. The purpose of life is to enjoy it and make the most of this journey, helping others along the way.

If you believe in God, then you have some other things you will want to consider. First, thing you have to consider is what are your assumptions when transitioning to retirement are they as follows?

One will you be mentally and physically healthy.

Two is will your spouse be mentally and physically healthy.

Three are you realistic about what you want to do in the future. Forty years is a long time.

Over the next four weeks I will be exploring retirement issues every Friday during the month of June. In the 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s a rosy picture was painted about the transition most people plan on at age 65.

With some forethought and active planning you will find this an ideal time to take your life purpose to significance. Without planning you will find in a time of frustration and regrets.

June 2nd - We will explore lifestyle adjustments that are necessary for you to make the most of this transition.

June 9th - We will explore the financial issues you will encounter during the transition.

June 16 – We will explore health and long-term care issues.

June 23 – What are the emotional and psychological issues that present themselves.

June 30 – Summary and Conclusion.

I hope you will join me on this trip. Last, remember life is for living and enjoying, you can’t save it and store it in the bank because you don’t know what the future will bring.

If you think about these changes, you will find that you will really enjoy retirement. I am here to help coach you on living life with gusto and to help you to keep moving forward with your plans on enjoying life.
