Follow Your Path

Updated: Aug 3, 2023

Do you remember the bucket list that I talked about in a prior post? You could look upon it as a list of opportunities that are available to you.

Opportunities are often all around us, and sometimes the only decision to make, is which one you want to pursue. Remember what Earl Nightingale once said, “We can do anything we want to do but we can’t do everything.”

So study your opportunities and decide which ones you want to take after you have enough facts to go ahead.

"You are the only person who can make you a success or a failure; the decision is yours and yours alone." Napoleon Hill says singleness of purpose means making a decision to follow a specified course, profession, or work in one’s life. The purpose becomes an object that you must keep it in view and continue striving toward not only when the going is easy, but also when the course is difficult.

That is what the Apostle Paul was referring to when he said, “This one thing I do.” This purpose became Paul’s life work, meaning that all his energy was directed toward that accomplishment.

When he said, “I press toward the mark for the prize,” he simply meant that this was his purpose in life and that he had a will and determination that would not accept defeat. Perhaps a wise man said it best in Proverbs 4:25 and his advice was,

“Let thine eyes look forward, and let thy eyelids look straight before thee. Ponder the path of thy feet and let all thy ways be established. Turn not to the right hand nor to the left.” You could not find better advice with regard to the importance of singleness of purpose.

So whether you are in the learning phase, earning phase or returning phase of life, set your goals, and set them high and pursue them with singleness of purpose. You will achieve all that you desire.

Last, remember life is for living and enjoying, you can’t save it up for some other time because you don’t know what the future will bring.

If you think about these changes, you will find that you will really enjoy retirement. I am here to help coach you on living life with gusto and to help you to keep moving forward with your plans on enjoying life.
