As I continue on with this blog I am debating on how best to proceed. I started on the this path 3 or 4 years ago hoping that I could pivot it into another career like I had with my construction career and malting career.
In a way you could say I have. I have turned to teaching college students about the real world of business courses. It has also been a great refresher for me on my business courses.
It has also brought my back ground up to date from the neanderthal age of business that I learned in the 1960’s and 1970’s.
As one of my students appley pointed out when I brought up an example of economic of inflation in the 1970’s when I told them to ask their parents, his parents were not born then. Boy does that make you feel old.
My career as a teacher is good, my one issue with it is going on vacation. I have a time share whose weeks unfortunately falls into the school year. It has not been an issue so far because of hurricane Ivan who devastated Fort Meyers Beach.
It has been three long years where we have not been able to use it as the resort tries to get back up and running. So now I am looking for that allusive occupation that I can pivot into that I can travel again.
That will also provide supplemental income to spend on my spouse and me, and will keep me challenged now and in the future. So if you have any ideas please feel free to share them with me.
I would love to keep teaching and interacting with students both young and old. How about yourself? Are you finding yourself in a similar position?
