What do you do with your time

I have been pondering how best to reach the audience I would like to, and I realized that most people are not interested in being efficient or feeling like they are on a clock.

They are looking for things that occupy their time when they feel like it. I have one friend who struggles to get up by noon. It’s not that he has a physical condition that makes him stay in bed.

He just likes staying up till all hours of the night than sleeping late into the morning. I have a couple of other friends who spend most of their weekdays providing day care for their grandchildren, and they love it.

Some are so into it that when they are offered chances to do something like travel, they can’t bring themselves to tell their children to arrange for childcare for two weeks. I don’t know if I should be sad for them or wish I had such dedication.

I feel myself driven to keep myself active with outside activities. These are travel, exploring new places and doing new things. My spouse and I have been to so many places that when we comment about a commercial that we have been there our kids respond of course you have.

My current career is teaching at the college level and while it is a challenge with the student population I teach. These are mostly athletes, people looking to go into the trades, or those who are single parents or working full time.

They struggle with their studies. Some of them have terrible internet access, or do not have computers or printers. This makes it tough for them when there are no books all the materials is on line.

They do keep me young because I am introducing them to ideas and material they did not know existed. It also forces me to get out of bed and stay active. My current activity outside teaching is working on the fund raising committee at our church and running the District Conference for our local Toastmasters association.

Time will tell if I have bitten off to much, but being judicious about my time I don’t I have. If you have struggled with this question and others then go to Patterson2Y2R,com/blog should be a place you should visit to share your stories and challenges.

I have an ear that would love to hear your stories. Let’s taste the real meaning of life. I am still working on my course with the goal of launching a starter course, and I will keep you abreast as to how the process goes.
