Not Finished Yet

Not Finished Yet: God’s Faithfulness Beyond the Finish Line

Key Scripture: Isaiah 46:4“Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.”

Today’s passage challenges the common view that retirement marks the end of the journey. Society often sees it as a finish line—but for believers, it should be seen as the beginning of a new, spiritually rich season.

Why do I believe this? Because in Isaiah 46:4, God promises to remain with us even in old age. He doesn't put an expiration date on His care. He continues to be our Creator, Sustainer, and Rescuer—unchanging in His love and purpose for us.

In retirement, God sustains us. He provides strength, peace, and purpose. In retirement, God carries us. We are not meant to shoulder life’s challenges alone.

In retirement, God rescues us—from fear, discouragement, and the lie that we no longer matter. This new season is filled with promise. It creates space for new callings—mentoring, serving, praying, writing, and discipling.

It’s a time to deepen our relationship with God and with others. Consider Psalm 92:14:“They still bear fruit in old age; they are ever full of sap and green.” Spiritual growth doesn’t retire.

God continues to shape us, teach us, and use us—if we remain open. This season can bring new lessons, deeper grace, and stronger dependence on God. It is also a time to grow in wisdom, build a legacy, and pass on faith to the next generation.

God never retires from His mission—and He doesn't want you to either. You are still vital to His kingdom. Retirement is not a conclusion—it’s a continuation. Practice daily trust through Scripture, prayer, and community. Let Isaiah 46:4 be your foundation: “I will sustain you; I will carry you.”

God is holding you in every step. Retirement is not the end—it’s a new chapter, written by the same faithful Author.
