This was the last entry in my diary about my knee. It has been an interesting time especially comparing the two different approaches. After you read it, I will give you my thoughts on knee operations.
Wednesday 10/29/25 - I went to watercise at the YMCA today for the first time in 8 weeks since I had my knee replaced. I was a little bit hesitant but once I got going with the exercises, I felt good.

It was nice to get back to exercising. My knee is doing good, I am still a little careful since I fell going up stairs a couple of weeks ago. I am now able to get into and out of my car with only minor difficulty.
I am stopping PT this Friday because they don't have any other exercises that can benefit me. I am going to start going to the YMCA and doing the exercises there.
The nice thing is I am not limited to when the PT place is open and since the membership is part of my silver sneakers membership it does not cost me any out of the pocket stuff.
I am eight weeks out and had a follow up doctor visit. I thought it went well, he was very happy with the way I heal. My next visit is in a year. Having gone through this a second time I would not hesitate to do home PT again.
PT started almost immediately with the at home theory which I believe made my rehab go so much faster. What I have to do now is to keep stretching the knees. I am still only at 118 degrees but my goal is 133 degrees.
I hope you have enjoyed the blog and can benefit from my experiences. Have a good Thanksgiving Holiday. I will not be publishing Thanksgiving week. I am working on a new focus called “The New Retirement Reality: What People 50+ Need Most Today”
